DTO-BioFlow Connects with Europe's Maritime Community at European Maritime Days 2026

DTO-BioFlow joined the Mission Ocean Joint Booth at European Maritime Days (EMD) 2026 in Limassol, Cyprus, on 21–22 May. The event provided an opportunity to connect with stakeholders from across Europe's maritime community and showcase how the project supports the development of the European Digital Twin Ocean through high-quality marine biodiversity data.

As part of the joint exhibition, DTO-BioFlow showcased the project through a digital presentation of its materials, including videos, posters, flyers, and the DTO-BioFlow Playbook accompanied by a slide deck. The team also engaged in live discussions with visitors interested in digital ocean technologies, biodiversity data, and sustainable ocean management.

Showcases Matchmaking Event Initiative

EMD 2026 also marked an important milestone for the DTO-BioFlow Matchmaking initiative, designed to strengthen collaboration between the project and its growing community of users. Through this virtual, moderated, and guided programme, DTO-BioFlow experts are paired with potential users to explore how the project's data, digital outputs, and services can address real-world challenges and support decision-making across research, policy, conservation, and the blue economy.

The matchmaking initiative goes beyond traditional networking by creating structured one-to-one exchanges that help participants identify relevant DTO-BioFlow resources, discuss practical applications, and establish new collaborations. These interactions are intended to accelerate the uptake of DTO-BioFlow-generated data and digital solutions while ensuring that future developments continue to respond to user needs.

Participating in the Mission Ocean Joint Booth reinforced DTO-BioFlow's commitment to collaboration, knowledge exchange, and stakeholder engagement. By connecting directly with the European maritime community, the project continues to raise awareness of its tools and services while supporting the broader Mission Ocean objective of restoring and protecting Europe's oceans and waters.

EMD event brought together representatives from across the maritime sector. The exhibition was lively, diverse, well attended, and generated significant interest.

We thank everyone who visited the Mission Ocean Joint Booth and look forward to continuing these conversations through upcoming DTO-BioFlow Matchmaking events and future project activities.
