Second DTO-BioFlow Data Grats Holders Workshop

data holders workshop
-
Zamansky tower, Sorbonne University 4, place Jussieu, 75252 Paris Cedex 05, France

About the Workshop

Hosted in collaboration with EMODnet Biology and OceanTraining.eu, this three-day workshop is tailored to the DTO-BioFlow Data Grants Holders—research teams working on biological datasets that are key to understanding and protecting marine ecosystems.

Held at the Zamansky Tower (24th floor, Room 2400), Sorbonne Université, in the heart of Paris, the workshop combines hands-on training with opportunities for knowledge exchange among peers and experts. Online participation is also available.

What to Expect

Participants will:

  • Present their ongoing marine biodiversity data projects
  • Engage in expert-led sessions on:
    • FAIR data principles and why they matter
    • The Darwin Core standard for biodiversity data
    • Data transformation workflows and quality control practices
    • Publishing data using the Integrated
    • Publishing Toolkit (IPT) Value standardisation,
    • DwC eMoF tables, metadata creation, and automation tools.

Why It Matters

The workshop aims to empower researchers to contribute high-quality, standardised, and interoperable data to international repositories. This supports the broader mission of making marine biodiversity data FAIR—Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable—and directly contributes to the success of the DTO-BioFlow project and its vision for a Digital Twin Ocean.
