DTO-BioFlow at the One Ocean Science Congress 2025

DTO-BioFlow at OOS 2025

DTO-BioFlow will be represented at the One Ocean Science Congress (OOSC), a special UNOC3 event dedicated to scientific insights into the Ocean's health and future. Organized by CNRS and IFREMER, the Congress aims to provide Heads of State, Government, and broader society with the latest science-informed perspectives to support conservation, sustainable use, and climate action.

DTO-BioFlow partners EMBRC and GEOMAR will actively contribute to the discussions at OOSC, highlighting the role of Digital Twin Ocean technologies in advancing marine biodiversity conservation, data-driven decision-making, and sustainable ocean management. Their participation reinforces DTO-BioFlow's commitment to bridging cutting-edge scientific research with policy and societal action.

There is One Ocean

The Ocean is a global common and a critical resource for human prosperity and well-being. It plays a crucial role in regulating the climate and supporting the livelihoods of three billion people, the vast majority in developing countries. However, the Ocean is under increasing threat from climate change, overfishing, pollution, and conflicting uses.

At the same time, the Ocean is a key source of solutions, offering opportunities to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Urgent, unified action is required to address these critical challenges and maximize the solutions the Ocean provides. This urgency is a major focus of the Third United Nations Conference on the Oceans (UNOC3), which will take place in Nice, France, from 9 to 13 June 2025. The conference aims to accelerate action and implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14), the least funded of all SDGs.

About the One Ocean Science Congress

The One Ocean Science Congress will feature a dynamic mix of plenary sessions, keynote speeches, oral and poster presentations, and interactive town hall events such as panels and roundtables. These sessions aim to strengthen the link between science and society, foster actionable solutions, and drive informed decision-making for the Ocean’s future.
