Within the framework of BlueMissionBANOS Arena 3, DTO-BioFlow will host a workshop to present and discuss the latest advancements in the Digital Twin of the Ocean (DTO). This workshop will provide an overview of the current state of the DTO's core public infrastructure, including a demonstration of the first pre-operational platform.
Workshop Details:
Session: Tuesday, 26 November 2024 | 16:00 - 17:45
Title: Demonstration of the Digital Twin of the Ocean and its Capabilities
About the Workshop:
This workshop will offer participants insight into the progress and objectives of the DTO initiative, which aims to create a comprehensive, data-driven digital replica of the ocean. Attendees will be introduced to the platform's initial functionalities and capabilities through live demonstrations, showing how it can be used to support decision-making in areas such as marine resource management, environmental monitoring, and the blue economy.
Contributions from DTO-BioFlow coordinator Klaas Denedut will explain DTO-BioFlow's role in advancing the Digital Twin of the Ocean and how the project contributes to the development of this platform.
Beyond the technical demonstration, the workshop will encourage a dynamic exchange of ideas through roundtable discussions, where participants can provide feedback, discuss potential applications, and identify any challenges or bottlenecks. This interactive format is designed to facilitate engagement from all stakeholders and help shape the further development of the DTO platform.
About BlueMissionBANOS Arena 3:
Following the success of previous Mission Arenas in Sweden and Latvia, BlueMissionBANOS Arena 3 will focus on the North Sea region, bringing together stakeholders from the Netherlands, Belgium, western Germany, western Denmark, and northern France. Over the course of two days, 24 interactive workshops will be hosted by regional projects, institutions, and companies, addressing key topics related to the blue economy and sustainable ocean management.
A key feature of the event will be the collaboration with the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, which will lead a North Sea regional workshop on the second day.
We invite all those interested in the future of ocean data technologies and the sustainable use of marine resources to join us in Amsterdam for this important event.
