Blue Tech Europe 2026 will take place in Paris, France, on 21–22 April 2026, at the Centre de conférences internationales – Sorbonne Université, bringing together academia, industry, government and investors to accelerate innovation in marine observing technologies. Organised by the European Marine Biological Resource Centre and aligned with the EU Ocean Pact and the Startup and Scale-up Strategy, the conference will focus on strengthening European autonomy in sensor and marine technology development, scaling autonomous observation systems, and reinforcing Europe’s competitiveness in blue technologies. EMODnet will be present, contributing to discussions on interoperable marine data services and the integration of European ocean observation infrastructures.

DTO-BioFlow at the Blue Tech Europe 2026

Within this context, the Horizon Europe project DTO-BioFlow will be represented through the EMODnet booth, where a selection of its promotional materials will be made available to participants. The project will showcase its work on integrating marine biodiversity data into the Digital Twin Ocean, contributing to ongoing discussions on interoperable data systems and digital innovation in ocean observation. Carlijn Koole of Seascape Belgium will support these efforts on site, engaging with attendees and presenting the project’s objectives and progress.

The materials on display will include concise posters highlighting DTO-BioFlow’s Data Use Cases (DUCs), alongside printed booklets focused on biodiversity data integration within the Digital Twin Ocean framework.

DTO-BioFlow’s participation contributes to the broader dialogue at Blue Tech Europe 2026, underscoring the importance of accessible, interoperable biodiversity data in advancing Europe’s digital ocean ambitions.
