The DTO-BioFlow team will take part in the European Conference for Biodiversity Monitoring (BioMonWeek 2026), taking place from 4–8 May 2026 in Montpellier, France. This inaugural European Conference for Biodiversity Monitoring will bring together experts to advance transnational cooperation and coordination across scales.
Several DTO-BioFlow partners and related initiatives will be represented. Mercator Ocean International will participate, representing NECCTON, the Copernicus Marine Service, and EDITO. Peter Desmet from INBO will contribute, including a presentation on sensor networks. Additional contributions will come from LifeWatch ERIC and CSC – IT Center for Science.
As the first edition of BioMonWeek, the event sets the foundation for a biannual forum aimed at delivering lasting impact. It will bring together science, policy, and industry communities to exchange knowledge, build networks, and support collective action to address the global biodiversity crisis.
By creating an inclusive space for the biodiversity monitoring community, the event will foster a shared understanding and strengthen collaboration across sectors and countries in Europe.
DTO-BioFlow’s participation highlights its commitment to improving biodiversity data flows and advancing interoperable, science-based solutions for ocean and environmental sustainability.
