The DTO-BioFlow consortium will participate in the 11th European Global Ocean Observing System (EuroGOOS) Conference, taking place from 18–20 May 2026 in Larnaca at UCLan Cyprus under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026. The conference, held every three years, is a key international forum bringing together leading experts in operational oceanography, marine science, and data-driven innovation for the ocean observing community.
The consortium partners – including EMBRC-ERIC, VLIZ, LifeWatch ERIC, ICES, Trust-IT, Seascape Belgium, TNO, University of Gothenburg (UGOT), COISPA, HCMR, and Hereon – will be actively engaged throughout the event, contributing to discussions on advancing marine data integration, biodiversity observation, and digital ocean ecosystems.
During the conference poster sessions, DTO-BioFlow will present its use cases, highlighting how the project supports interoperable biodiversity data flows and strengthens the European Digital Twin Ocean vision. These use cases demonstrate practical applications of data integration across marine research infrastructures and showcase solutions supporting science-based decision-making.
A key highlight of the participation will be the presence of:
- Christina Pavloudi (EMBRC-ERIC)
- Klas Ove Möller (Hereon)
They will be presenting the DTO-BioFlow use cases poster, sharing insights on how the project is enabling better integration of marine biodiversity data and supporting next-generation ocean knowledge systems.
The EuroGOOS 2026 conference, themed “Stronger Together”, will feature plenary sessions, posters, and interactive discussions focused on innovation in ocean observations, digital transformation, and co-designed ocean knowledge systems.
DTO-BioFlow invites attendees to join the session in Larnaca and engage with the team to explore how collaborative data ecosystems can support sustainable ocean management and research.
